Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Program
This program provides support & financial assistance to caregivers and families of Alzheimer's & other related dementias, including:
- Pick's Disease - Progressive Nuclear Palsy
- Huntington's - Inoperable Brain Tumors
- Parkinson's - Friedrich's Ataxia
- Cruetzfeldt-Jakob - Irreversible Dementia
What is the eligibility and cost of the program?
- Family or individual must reside in Marinette County.
- Physician diagnosis to include any irreversible, progressive dementia.
- Income eligibility determined by financial assessment.
- Functional assessment required to access services.
Dementia Friendly Community Coalition, Marinette County
A group of healthcare professionals, community members, and advocates for senior health and wellness with a mission “to create a dementia friendly community that is safe, respectful, and welcoming for people living with dementia through awareness, education, and community engagement.”
A Dementia Friendly Community is a place where individuals with dementia and their caregivers are met with understanding and given support in order to feel safe and welcome. In a Dementia Friendly Community, individuals should be able to function and maintain their ability to access local facilities and services.

Family Caregiver Support Program
This program provides information, educational materials, support & financial assistance to caregivers of individuals aged 60 and older and to grandparents aged 60 and older raising grandchildren under the age of 19. Educational programs are offered to address caregiving concerns, help identify and reduce personal stress, communicate effectively with family members, medical staff, and others, manage challenging situations, and master tough care giving decisions.
What is the eligibility and cost of the program?
These services are funded by the Federal National Family Caregivers’ Act. There is no charge. Those receiving financial assistance must meet the program requirements.
Powerful Tools For Caregivers Course
The “Powerful Tools” is a 6-week course for those who give care to family members or friends. Care may include managing medications, overseeing finances, assisting with housework, long distance supervising, or hands on care. Through this course caregivers learn to identify and reduce personal stress, communicate effectively with professionals and family members, master tough caregiving decisions, and take better care of themselves.
Caregiver Connection Support Group
Join us for fun, friendly monthly meetings dedicated to older adults and caregivers. We meet every fourth Monday of the month at 10:30am at the Crivitz Northwoods Senior Cafe. The Caregiver Connection Suport Group provides a community of support in an open, compassionate and understanding setting to discuss concerns and stressors, participate in hands-on activities and share in learning opportunities. Coffee and snacks served.

Caregiver Coalition of Marinette County
The Caregiver Coalition of Marinette County (CCMC) is a group of community based organizations, healthcare providers and individuals, working with a common mission in providing family caregivers in our community with a link to vital services and support. As advocates for family caregivers, the CCMC is dedicated to being a comprehensive community coalition providing resource information, support and advocacy for caregiving concerns and enhancing quality of life for those touched by these concerns.
As caregiving touches everyone, the mission of the CCMC is to enhance the quality of life of those who give and receive care by increasing community awareness of caregiving issues through continuing advocacy, education and outreach.
